Harmonic Foci
Harmonic Foci
Foci for the four Harmonic Traditions. Each Focus grants its die bonus only to the listed Tradition rolls. A character may own multiple Foci but may only apply one Focus per roll, the player declares which Focus is active before rolling.
Focus ratings: a purchasable Focus adds +1D unless otherwise noted. See AX.C.04 for standard Focus rules (max Focus rating 3D, purchased from Talent budget at character generation or via Advancement at 4 XP per die).
Temporal Harmonics Foci
For full Temporal Harmonics rules, see AX.GIL.08.01. Covenant, Archive, and Resonance-Ward are the three Disciplines.
Signet of the Accord | Temporal Focus | Classified
"The seal doesn't just record the agreement. It becomes the agreement."
The primary Signature Focus of the LGT Arbiter (see AX.GIL.07.01). Heavy silver-alloy ring bearing the Linden-Green crest, etched with Archive-script along the band. The harmonic resonance is keyed to the wearer's biometric signature.
EFFECT: +2D to Covenant and Resonance-Ward rolls. Covenants sealed with the Signet carry automatic LGT legal standing in all signatory jurisdictions without requiring separate legal process.
RESTRICTION: Issued exclusively to credentialed LGT Arbiters. Black market copies exist but lack the harmonic key; they provide no bonus.
VALUE: ℃ Classified. Estimated black market: ℃80,000 for a non-functional replica.
Archive Lens | Temporal Focus | Restricted (℃3,500)
The glass looks ordinary until you tilt it toward a surface and see the week it's been having.
A monocle or clip-on optical lens ground from a crystal treated with Temporal Harmonics during manufacture. When held to the eye and used during an Archive Discipline roll, the visual impression of temporal resonance is rendered as visible color-layering, useful in field investigation.
EFFECT: +1D to Archive Discipline rolls. On a success with 3+ successes, the character receives one additional sensory detail from the past event or location being read (a sound, a smell, a specific face) without increasing the Threshold.
RESTRICTION: None, licensed to investigators, historians, journalists. Technical (Wit) Threshold 2 to calibrate for new owner; uncalibrated use provides no bonus.
VALUE: ℃3,500.
Temporal Anchor Spike | Temporal Focus | Restricted (℃4,000)
Push it into the floor before the negotiation starts. Afterwards, everyone in the room has a very clear memory of exactly what was said.
A hand-length rod of resonance-treated steel, driven into a surface and activated as a Minor Action. Emits a low-frequency Temporal field that makes events within Close range during the next scene exceptionally easy to Archive-recall later.
EFFECT: +1D to Archive rolls targeting events that occurred within Close range of a planted Spike. The Spike must be present and active during the event to apply, retroactive placement provides no benefit. Does not grant ability to Archive events the character wasn't present for.
RESTRICTION: Regulated. Ownership requires filing with LGT local registry. Planting one in a private location without consent is a Juris-Axiomatic violation in most jurisdictions.
VALUE: ℃4,000. Black market: ℃6,500 (no registration required, no questions).
Resonance-Ward Band | Temporal Focus | Standard (℃1,200)
The bracelet makes you feel like time is watching out for you. The LGT would tell you that's exactly what's happening.
A wide metal wristband embossed with a self-renewing ward-script. Used by Arbiters, corporate bodyguards, and anyone working in high-stakes negotiation environments. Provides a passive harmonic barrier without requiring active roll expenditure.
EFFECT: +1D to Resonance-Ward rolls. Passive: when the wearer is the target of a Covenant attempt they have not been informed of, the character makes a Wit + Attunement roll (Threshold 2) as a Free Action to sense the attempt, not to block it, but to know it is happening.
RESTRICTION: None. Widely available.
VALUE: ℃1,200.
Tectonic Harmonics Foci
For full Tectonic Harmonics rules, see AX.GIL.08.01. Song-Shaping, Resonance-Map, and Ground-Sense are the three Disciplines.
Conductor's Baton | Tectonic Focus | Restricted (℃5,500)
BVHI Song-Smiths use these in the field. The weight is wrong for an orchestra. The weight is right for what it actually does.
A dense alloy baton, exactly 38 cm in length, calibrated for harmonic conduction. The grip is wrapped in resonance-sensitive polymer that reads the Song-Smith's pulse and feeds micro-adjustments into the Tectonic field. Standard issue for BVHI senior Site Engineers; available on restricted market.
EFFECT: +1D to Song-Shaping rolls. On any Song-Shaping success, the character may designate one die result to carry over as a "held note"; this held note provides +1 automatic success to the next Song-Shaping roll in the same scene (no re-roll; automatic), then expires. One held note at a time.
RESTRICTION: Requires Tectonic Harmonics access. BVHI credential or licensed vendor.
VALUE: ℃5,500.
Resonance Tuning Fork Set | Tectonic Focus | Standard (℃800)
Three forks. Three frequencies. Tap them before you scan and the ground opens up its secrets.
A leather roll containing three calibrated steel forks tuned to the three primary Axiomatic frequency bands, Structural, Geological, and Living-Grain. Standard tool for surveyors, Seismic Engineers, and field investigators. Each fork is activated by striking it against a target material and holding it while rolling.
EFFECT: +1D to Resonance-Map and Ground-Sense rolls made while using the appropriate fork against the relevant material (Structural for constructed materials; Geological for natural formations; Living-Grain for organic matter). Using the wrong fork provides no bonus and may distort results (GM discretion).
RESTRICTION: None. Sold openly at technical supply vendors.
VALUE: ℃800 (set of three).
Weight-Rune Gloves | Tectonic Focus | Restricted (℃6,000) The runes aren't decoration. Each one is a sub-harmonic instruction. Pull or push, and the material decides to cooperate.
Heavy-duty work gloves with Song-Smithed rune-arrays along the fingers and palms. The runes don't move material on their own; they act as a harmonic extension of the wearer's Tectonic output, reducing resistance when Song-Shaping physical matter at Close range.
EFFECT: +1D to Song-Shaping rolls when the character is at Close range to the target material and using their hands as the primary action. Removes the standard −1D penalty for Song-Shaping at Close range (per Tectonic rules in AX.GIL.08.01). No bonus to Song-Shaping at Near or farther.
RESTRICTION: Requires Tectonic Harmonics access.
VALUE: ℃6,000.
Seismic Relay Node | Tectonic Focus | Restricted (℃3,200) [TECH] Drop it, walk fifty meters, and you can still feel every vehicle, every footstep, every structural complaint in the building.
A palm-sized device that extends the range of Ground-Sense without requiring the practitioner to be in physical contact with the medium. When planted (Minor Action), it broadcasts Tectonic-readable signal from its location back to the practitioner at up to Far range.
EFFECT: +1D to Ground-Sense rolls. Extends effective Ground-Sense range: the practitioner may treat the Relay's location as their own for the purposes of the Discipline's range limitations, as long as they are within Far range of the Relay. One Relay active at a time per practitioner.
RESTRICTION: Requires Tectonic Harmonics access. BVHI-licensed equipment.
VALUE: ℃3,200.
Technomancy Foci
For full Technomancy rules, see AX.GIL.08.01. Bind-Spirit, Logic-Speak, and Plane-Walk are the three Disciplines.
Rune-Etching Pen | Technomancy Focus | Standard (℃500)
Signature tool of the NTC Logic-Binder. Everyone calls it a pen. It writes code into reality.
A precision stylus housing a reservoir of conductive Axiomatic ink and a micro-vibration tip calibrated for fine rune-script work. The NTC issues these to Logic-Binders and Hardware Exorcists; they are also available in the restricted technical market. Function without a Technomancy practitioner is inert, the ink only activates under a harmonic hand.
EFFECT: +1D to Bind-Spirit and Logic-Speak rolls made by physically inscribing rune-script onto a surface or device. No bonus to rolls not involving physical inscription (verbal commands, remote access).
RESTRICTION: Requires Technomancy access. Available at NTC-licensed technical vendors.
VALUE: ℃500.
Neural-Jack Interface | Technomancy Focus | Restricted (℃8,500) [TECH]
Direct neural uplink. The first time you jack in and feel the Silicon Demi-Plane, it's like remembering a place you've never been.
A subdermal port, typically at the base of the skull or along the wrist, housing a filament array that translates the practitioner's neural harmonics into direct Technomantic signal. Required for Plane-Runner work at professional depth. Installation requires a Minor Surgical Procedure (Medicine Threshold 3, or ℃2,000 at a licensed clinic).
EFFECT: +1D to Plane-Walk rolls. Removes the standard -1D Disadvantage applied when Plane-Walking while physically active or in combat (per AX.GIL.08.01). Passive: the practitioner can detect active Bound-Spirit devices within Close range as a Free Action, sensing their "warmth" without rolling.
RESTRICTION: Requires Technomancy access. NTC-issued or licensed clinic installation.
VALUE: ℃8,500 (device); ℃2,000 (installation). Black market installation: ℃4,000, no registry entry, no warranty.
Faraday Field Generator | Technomancy Focus | Restricted (℃7,000) [TECH]
Generates a cone of Axiomatic null-space. Sour spirits can't breach it. Logic-Viruses can't propagate through it. Whatever's inside, stays clean.
A belt-worn emitter housing a resonance-dampening field projector. Standard equipment for Hardware Exorcists working on compromised tech. The field suppresses rogue Bound-Spirit signal at Close range, creating a stable work environment for delicate Technomantic intervention.
EFFECT: +1D to Bind-Spirit rolls made to contain, sever, or purge a Bound Spirit (exorcism applications). Passive: while active, the field suppresses Logic-Virus propagation at Close range, any Logic-Virus attempting to spread to or from a device within Close range must overcome Threshold 3 rather than the standard Threshold.
RESTRICTION: Requires Technomancy access. NTC Hardware Exorcist credential or BVHI infrastructure contract.
VALUE: ℃7,000.
Portable Logic-Terminal | Technomancy Focus | Restricted (℃4,000) [TECH]
A full-stack development environment in a tablet. The keys rearrange based on the rune-grammar of whatever you're writing.
A hardened slate terminal pre-loaded with NTC-standard Axiomatic compiler tools and a runic-input keyboard that adapts to the practitioner's personal notation style after one session of calibration. Logic-Binders and Axiom Architects use these in the field when they cannot work on-site hardware directly.
EFFECT: +1D to Logic-Speak rolls. On a successful Logic-Speak roll using the Terminal, the character may queue a secondary instruction, a follow-up Logic command that triggers automatically when the primary command completes (no additional roll; the secondary instruction cannot be more complex than Easy/Threshold 1).
RESTRICTION: Requires Technomancy access.
VALUE: ℃4,000.
Marginal Harmonics Foci
For full Marginal Harmonics rules, see AX.GIL.08.01. Nudge, Obscurement, and Probability-Read are the three Disciplines.
The "Lucky" Coin | Marginal Focus | Classified (HIA Issue)
Old gold. One face is heads. The other face is also heads. It's never been tails.
A minted coin of uncertain origin, the metal alloy doesn't match any listed treasury issue, the date is always slightly smudged, and the toss always lands in a way that defies mechanical probability. HIA Marginal Operatives receive one at recruitment; no two are identical. Counterfeits exist but do not function.
EFFECT: +2D to Nudge rolls. Once per scene, when the character uses a Nudge roll to re-roll a single die, they may choose which re-rolled result to keep, the new result or the old, after seeing both. (Standard Nudge rule requires accepting the re-rolled result.)
RESTRICTION: Classified HIA equipment. Possession by non-HIA personnel is a security event, HIA will notice and respond. Non-practitioners handling the coin experience a minor probability disturbance (GM's choice of what "minor" means in context).
VALUE: ℃ Classified.
Probability Cartographer's Journal | Marginal Focus | Restricted (℃3,800)
The entries are always slightly wrong. That's not a flaw. That's how it works, the Journal records the most likely version of events, not the actual one.
A leather-bound journal with Marginal-Harmonics-treated pages. The practitioner writes observations; the paper's resonance shows where the recorded event has the highest probability of deviation from the recorded account. Used by HIA analysts and high-stakes strategists to map the gap between what happened and what almost happened.
EFFECT: +1D to Probability-Read rolls. After a successful Probability-Read, the character may ask the GM one additional question about the probability space around the target event, specifically about the second most likely outcome (what almost happened, or what could still happen). GM answers honestly.
RESTRICTION: Requires Marginal Harmonics access.
VALUE: ℃3,800.
Axiomatic White Noise Generator | Marginal Focus | Restricted (℃6,500) [TECH]
Halfling Burrow-States use these to stay Data-Dark. In the right hands, it makes a room disappear from every kind of seeing.
A compact device that emits a broadband harmonic suppression field, scrambling Probability-Read, Resonance-Read, and passive Attunement detection within its operating radius. Used by HIA Counter-Surveillance Techs and anyone who needs a space to be truly private.
EFFECT: +1D to Obscurement rolls made within the device's suppression field. Passive: all Resonance-Read attempts and Attunement-based detection rolls targeting characters or events within the field's radius operate at Disadvantage. Radius: Close range. Requires Minor Action to activate.
RESTRICTION: Controlled device. Registered ownership required in LGT-signatory jurisdictions. HIA-issued versions are unregistered by design.
VALUE: ℃6,500.
Encrypted Comms-Jewelry | Marginal Focus | Restricted (℃4,500) [TECH]
Looks like a necklace. Transmits on a frequency that doesn't appear on any registered spectrum. The pendant is also a recorder, a dead-drop, and if you need it, a garrote.
Miniaturized encrypted communications hardware embedded in a piece of jewelry (ring, pendant, bracelet, HIA tailors to the agent's cover identity). The encryption is Marginal-Harmonics-layered, meaning standard technical decryption alone is insufficient, you need both the cryptographic key and a Marginal practitioner to break the resonance-layer.
EFFECT: +1D to Obscurement rolls applied to communication and information concealment (hiding the transmission, obscuring the sender, masking the content's nature). Passive: any technical attempt to intercept or decode transmissions through the jewelry must overcome an additional Threshold 3 challenge using Marginal Harmonics; pure Technical rolls can strip the cryptographic layer but cannot address the harmonic layer without a practitioner.
RESTRICTION: Requires Marginal Harmonics access. HIA primary issue; available on black market from HIA-adjacent suppliers.
VALUE: ℃4,500.
